My name is John Martinez. I am a Brazilian American composer and bassist. I am a senior in the composition program at Arizona State University. I compose concert music, music for media, and love collaborating on projects. I grew up listening to and playing Funk, Hip Hop, Brazilian music, Rock, Classical, Jazz, Film, Video Game and many other styles. I am fluent in Logic Pro X, Sibelius and FMOD. I placed second in the 2020 Artists of Promise composition Competition.  I have played electric bass in bands since I was a teenager and have performed solo, chamber and orchestral works on double bass. Some of my music can be heard in the film “Backfired”, the Glendale Community College theatre performances of “Virtually Shakespeare” and “Tragedians Anonymous” the games “The Controlls of Players”, Multi-Tool”, “Kookysphere” and in other places online. I am a husband, and a father and I love spending time with my family. I am a dual citizen of the United States and Brazil. I grew up between the two countries and am proud to be from both. I love Brazil and eventually plan way later in life to take my family back to Brazil. I am fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
